Pest problem

Question
Something is eating the leaves off my green beans. My garden is totally fenced in. the green beans get to 2-3 inches and then something (at night) bites everything off 1-2 inches above the soil line. It has eaten the cauliflower too. Not below soil line. All is left is the stump. I have put out mouse traps w no results. It is ot deer or rabbits. I have seen green tree frogs in the garden , but did not think it would be them. Thank you.

Answer
Slugs or Japanese Beetles?  They love to sneak out at night and dine on vegetables.  Go outside with a flashlight tonite.  See anything?

Slugs can work quickly.  They'll leave only the stump.

But you'll see them.

If there are no slugs out there, my guess is: rabbits.

Rabbits are not picky eaters.  They'll eat any young, tender plant.  It can be a Vegetable, or a Flower.  It can be a Shrub or a Tree as far as the Rabbit's concerned.  They are all fair game for Rabbits.

But you think not?

rsvp!
