one zone with no water pressure

Question
I live in Florida and have recycled city water for my irrigation.  My system has four zones, four separate valves and a Hunter digital timer. A week ago when the sprinklers came on, zone 2 sprinklers dribbled, then later sprinkled full force. Yesterday, zone 2 only dribbled from all sprinklers, but the other zones were ok.  My controller thinks that everything is ok and shows that the zone is running and the subsequent zones come on as programmed.  I've looked for obvious leaks. I've looked at some similar problems on this site, but can't figure out the right answer.  If this is very involved, we'll hire a contractor to fix it, but I could do simple repairs (solenoid or maybe diaphragm).  We are further hampered because the city only turns the water on during specific hours of the day.  HELP!

Answer
That's great that your city has recycled water for landscape irrigation.  I think it is the wave of the future.

First. try adjusting your valve.  On top of the valve is a knob that controls the flow.  open it all the way (counterclockwise), then close it all the way counting the number of turns.  Then open it again halfway.  This is the proper adjustment for valves.
If that doesnt work, try dissembling the valve (remember to turn of the water first), and clean out all of the components inside.  Since you have it apart, inspect all of the parts, especially the diagphram, to assure that there are not any punctures or tears in it.  If there are, replace it.
If its not working, then you may want to have a local service person look at the system.
