Sprinkler Pump and Check Valve...

Question
I recently had my sprinkler heads (rotary and spray heads) serviced.  The technician at the time told me that my check valve needed replacing, so I replaced it.  Roughly a week after the replacement, the pump is running but no water is flowing to the sprinklers. There is also no water from the hose that comes off the line from the pump- I use this to fill the sprinkler tank that holds rust aid.

Is there something that I need to look for? This system was working perfectly a week ago.  Also, the pump is a hydrotek 4000, operating 2 zones.

Thanks!

Answer
Thanks for your question.
One of two things is happening. The check valve sticking closed or the pump is losing prime. I would suggest priming the pump and trying to run it. If it runs OK, your check valve is fine. Then look for leaks on the suction pipe from the pump. Once you shut off the pump it will have a bit of pressure left, that is the time to carefully look at the pump and piping for suction leaks.
If you need further help, reply back.
