Irrigation not functioning

Question
I have a rainbird irrigation system which is not turning on.  I can manually turn them on from the actual value, in the ground.  I troubleshot with rainbird and they claimed my timer was defective, so I just installed a new one. All wires are getting 24 volts, and the system is still not turning on. Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks

Answer
Dear Emily, I hope this helps. You say the wires are getting 24 volts. Is this at the controller, or at the valves? It could be that you have a bad wire from the controller to the valves, or a bad solenoid. Check your voltage at the solenoid and see what you get. If you are getting 24 volts, then it is probably your solenoid. Let me know if I can help you anymore, thanks and have a great day.
