Hunter EC Residential Irrigation Controller

Question
getting "NO AC" reading. Checked AC power with multimeter. Power is getting to the unit, yet still getting the error reading. Hit reset, nothing. We recently had a thunderstorm. Perhaps a power surge damaged the unit?? What do I need to replace and where can I get it?

Answer
Hey Randy, I hope this helps. You are correct, when the controller reads "No AC" this means that the controller is not getting power or for some reason doesn't register power.   When you checked your power, did you check it at where the 24 volt transformer is hooked in to the panel? And did it read between 22 and 26 volts? If this is what you are getting, then the only other thing I would try, is take the battery out of the controller, and power down the unit for about 30 seconds. Then power the unit back up and before you put the battery in, see what happens. If you're getting a good reading at the controller, and it's still saying "No AC" then the unit is probably shot. Any irrigation supply store should sell this controller, just call before you go there and tell them the Manufacturer and model # to make sure they have it in stock. Usually it's better to replace the whole unit instead of any parts. Good luck and if you need anymore help, let me know, have a great day.
