Hardie irrigation controller -

Question
QUESTION: After a recent freeze I went to turn on the Hardie irrigation system [installed in 1995] and I got an Error - 1 message. This message is not listed in the manual as to what is wrong and how to fix it. Can you help?

ANSWER: Hey John, can you let me know what controller you have (model)? If you can give me the model, I should be able to help you. Thanks and let me know.

QUESTION: Jim-
It is a Hardie Total Control - 9 station. No other numbers or code on controller but on the manual the picture of the controller does have the code TC-15B on it. Hope this helps. Thanks.

Answer
Hey John, my information in the manual also doesn't show anything about an error message. It could be that a solenoid is shorting out, and bringing this message about. I would suggest taking out the battery, and disconnecting the power for about one minute. Then turn the power back on without the battery in the controller. Now turn one station on at a time using the manual single station mode. Whatever # valve gives you the error message, then this solenoid needs to be replaced. Also, Hardie was bought out by a company called Irri-trol, and they still make the Total control controller. Their hotline is 1-800-634-8873. They might know more about the error message. Good and have a great day.
