Question
We just bought a new home with a sprinkler system...Hunter SRC Plus controller.  We have 6 zones and when we had an inspection done prior to purchasing the home, 2 of the zones didn't work.  Since moving in, I was able to get one of the zones to work once, but it shut off after only about 4 minutes of a 15 minute cycle.  I have not been able to get the other zone to come on at all using the controller, but I did find the valve and was able to turn it on manually.  I'm very inexperienced with sprinkler systems, but would like to avoid paying someone to come if it's a relatively simple fix.  Any ideas?  Thank you!

Most likely it is a electrical issue. What is your experience with electrical issues and what type of tools do you have? Volt/ohm meter at least? If so we can start to try and see if it's bad connections, shorted wire, bad solenoid or a bad controller.
