Sprinkler system not working

Question
I have 6 zones on a Hunter Pro-C controller. None of the zones will come on. If I turn them on manually at the solenoid they work. I ran the test on the controller by pressing the +-and both arrow buttons simultaneously, and didn't get any error messages. The display on the controller works. I'm not sure I know how to use a volt meter, but tried at the connections where the transformer wires are attached in the controller. I got a reading of .02. Is it possible that the transformer is sending enough volts to operate the display, but not enough to open the valves?

Thanks,

Art

Answer
Hey Art, if you have a 9 volt battery installed in the controller, even if you don't have power to the controller, you will have a display. Once you take the 9 volt battery out, if you have no power, you will have no display(with the battery removed). You should get a reading of between 22 to 26 volts on the wires running from the transformer to the controller. If you are getting .02, something is wrong. To check if a station is putting out enough voltage, turn that # on at the controller, and test the voltage across the terminal strip in back, touching your hot lead to the # field wire (1,2,etc.) and the neutral lead to the terminal marked C for common. Again you should get a reading from 22 to 26 volts. It sounds as though you need a new transformer. Let me know if you need anymore help, thanks and have a good day.
