One zone stays on all the time

Question
Well station #3 comes on all the time while all other stations are running. I thought that I had a bad valve so I replace it but still zone comes on I have reset the controller but it will not erase nothing on the screen, I have disconnect zone #3 from the controller but still comes on when I start zone #1 how or what could be the problem? Thank you for you're help and you're time.

Answer
Hey Marco, since you replaced the valve, I am going to assume it is not the valve. You disconnected the wire #3 from the controller, so I am going to assume it is not the controller. Your problem is in the wires somewhere. first I would check the connections at the valve solenoids, and make sure you have one lead from each valve solenoid hooked to the common wire, and the other lead hooked to a single hot lead from the controller. The other thing it could be, is if the wire running from the controller, to the valves, is damaged somewhere, and the hot wires are touching each other, and allowing the valve to come on because more than one hot wire is touching the #3 hot wire. The other thing to look for, is if you have a wire hooked to the pump start/master valve terminal, and the #3 valve is either hooked to this wire, or again the wire is damaged and the pump start/master valve wire is touching the #3 hot wire, then the valve would run when all the other valves turn on. It might be wise to replace the wire from the controller to the valves, because sometimes finding a cut or damaged wire will take more time than just replacing the wire. Also, first just run a new wire over the ground, and rewire the valves, and make sure it is working properly, before you bury the new wire. Good luck and have a great day.
