Weed

Question
I have a weed that shoots its seeds all over the place whenever I try to pull it up. I live in Viginia, and this weed comes up in the spring, paticularly in areas where I sprayed Roundup last year. It is taking over! Wish I had a photo to email to you but I don't. Any guesses? Any websites where I can ID it against good photos on the site?

Thank you. Felix

Answer
i take it these weeds are in flower beds. i'm in NJ. my guess is oxalis (clover looking leaves w/yellow or other color flower). they are a persistant weed especially where other weeds will not grow. try & type OXALIS PLANT into your search engine. they will shoot their seeds 20-30' and rapidly as you touch the plant. the key to control is to spray the plants w/RoundUp while the plants are small before they go to seed. you can also handpull them before they go to seed.
in the lawn apply Scotts TB +2 after they appear. wet the foliage 1st to aid the weed control into sticking to the leaves of the plant. no rain for 24 hours. cut your lawn frequently to prevent them from going to seed.
