Question
what do you think would happen to a lima bean plant if you put salt in the soil as it was trying to grow?

Answer
Kelli, the salt would burn the roots and slowly kill the plant.  That is why you see grass burnt out that is planted close to the road after the snow melts.  The salt from the salt trucks dissolves down to the root and kills off the foliage.

Good luck with your project.
