3rd graders school project

Question
My 3rd grader came home with a lima bean and told me we had to plant it. So I did. Now I have a plant I don't know what to do with. I have it in a pot right now, but I know it's going to out grow that soon. Should I plant it outside some where or can I keep it in a pot ?(just move it to a larger one) My yard is not plant friendly at the moment.

Answer
Denine:

You didn't say where you live, so I don't know if it is too early to plant it outside. Lima beans like warm weather. You can keep it in a pot where your child can keep a close eye on it. Just keep it in the sunniest window you have.

Beans are great for kids to grow, as they grow so quickly - as you have probably already noticed. The plant will not get very big, but it may grow about 2 feet tall. Growing it in the house it might get a bit "leggy", so you may want to stake it. Just tie it loosely to a lightweight but tall support.
