March wedding table top floral arrangements.

Question
Hello.

I am in charge of the table top floral decor for an upcoming wedding in March.  The wedding will be outside at a winery setting.  The bride's color is amethyst.   I have purchased 9" vases (5" opening at the top)which resemble to shape of a wine carafe,  but can return these if I choose to go another route.  The tables will be seating about 10 people each.

The bride wanted something simple and hoped to achieve a "just picked" from the garden/field look.

I was not sure what flower choice to go with,  but know that there will be daffodils blooming at the winery (garden and adjacent hills).

Could you give me a suggestion regarding flower choices that would compliment her chosen color amethyst and also accomplish the look that she wants?  Would also appreciate any other suggestions...

Thank you so much for your time!
Debra

Answer
Hi Debra!

I can give you some suggestions of flowers that many of us grow in gardens here that should be available year-round.  And you should be able to find colors that would complement the bride's choice of color.

Lisianthus
Heather (my favorite for wedding flowers to create an airy feel)
Larkspur
Tulips (season is limited for these, but they should be available in March)
Stock
Waxflower
Caspia (also called sea lavender - nice for a filler)
Snapdragons
Alstroemeria
Ranunculus
Aster (many types - rainbow aster [aster novae] is nice, as well as Alpen Aster and monte casino)
Yarrow
Sweet William

Also, don't be afraid to use some complementary branches, such as curly willow tips or grapevine, and trailing greenery, including ivy and vinca, which should be available in March.  Also, hanging amaranthus is actually a flower that...well, hangs, that really has a nice effect.  This will help you create the "wild" look.
