rabbits

Question
Please tell me a way to rid rabbits from my flowers. They are eating them. How can I make them leave my flowers alone? Please help. Flowers are not cheap. Someone told me to use Cayanne pepper. Is this true.. ?

Answer
Trapping is the most effective way to control rabbits. Commercial box traps measuring 10"X 12"X 30" are recommended.
Fencing is another way. It will need to be at least 2 feet above the ground, and spacing no more then 2".
Netting around the plants will protect them.
Finding where they nest durring the day, and destroying it, will cause them to move somewhere else.
Repellents work better for some gardeners then others, so no one product seems to be foolproof all of the time in all places in the country. It will need to be reapplied and changed all of the time. Don't get too confident about their effectiveness, if the rabbit is hungry, it will find a way to eat.
Pepper, black, or cayanne, is organic, so it doesn't harm the soil, and it's very inexpensive compared to the repellents. Sprinkle the pepper, all over, and around plants. It is reported to repel rabbits. If you water your flowers every day, you will need to apply the pepper every day.
