submerged flowers

Question

submerged flowers
I have a bride who wants submerged flowers for her centerpieces.  Each vase is different, she wants to have tulips, mini calla lilies, orchids, and roses.  How do I keep the flowers from floating?

Answer
Only waxy flowers will work, Karen.  Orchids, Gardenia, etc. are very good.  Tulips are iffy... roses do ok.

You want to use what is called a 'pin holder' which come in sizes from tiny to massive, affixed to the bottom of the vase prior to it being filled with water.  Use floral putty to affix.

You can find these are arts and crafts stores like Michaels or on line.
