Patio plants

Question
I have a number of 6 foot high daturas and hibiscus in large pots on my patio. Whenever the wind blows they fall over.  Is there any way of keeping them upright short of putting each of them inside a pile of used tyres?

Thanks

Answer
Is there a way to build a wind break? I suggest this first, because these plants will do much better if they are not kept in a windy, drafty location. The wind will dry the leaves, and cause bruising of the flowers, and leaves. See if you are able to make a lattice screen, or some other barrier in the direction the wind comes from. If it comes from different directions, then make the screen portable.
Tying the plants to a support will keep them in place.
Heavy weight in the pots will keep them from moving.
This can be done by putting heavy bricks or rocks in the top of the soil. You will still be able to water around them.
Placing the pots in a group, or putting other things around them, with keep them from tipping over.
Check the pots. They may need to be potted up in a larger pot which will help to keep them from being top heavy.
