Antirrhinum majus

Snapdragons (Antirrhinum majus) an-ter-REE-num MAY-jus Genus:  Antirrhinum

This plant produces upright racemes of two-lipped flowers with spreading, rounded lobes in a vast arrray of warm colors. It flowers profusely summer through autumn.

Noteworthy Characteristics: 

Cultivars range greatly in height and vary in use from bedding to mixed border and cut flowers.

Care: 

Deadhead to prolong flowering.

Propagation: 

Sow seed in containers in winter at 60-61°F. Root softwood cuttings in summer.

Problems: 

Mold, leaf spot, rust and root rot, downy mildew. Aphids and leaf miners.
