boganvillea, proteas

Question
Please advise when to take cuttings for both plants

Answer
Brian, both are very easy to root; the proteas is a little more tricky, take a semi-hardwood cutting about 4 inches long (this years growth) and dip it in a rooting hormone solution (rootone) keep it warm in the soil and slightly moist (not wet) misting it on a regular basis; you will see new growth within a month, put it out in the garden during the autumn or early spring when the nights are cooler. The Boug is very easy, again, take a 4 inch cutting (without bracts/flowers on it) and dip it in rootone and within a month you will also have new growth...good luck! Nick
