Drying a fresh orchid

Question
I have recieved a fresh orchid from my 50th wedding anniverary and would like to perserve it in a scrap book.  Can you tell me the best way to do this?

Answer
Well, first and foremost, congratulations on that important milestone in your life and your marriage.

Place the flower between two heavy objects (books, pages in a book, etc) where the humidity isn't too high.  It should dry while being compressed.  After drying and being compressed, you may laminate it to avoid damage from wear and tear.  You might even consider a little message to be laminated with it.  I would recommend you press and dry it for at least a month.
