how to separate and transplant pachysandra

Question
Hi- I have a lot of Pachysandra growing at my house.  I wanted to take some of the sprouts(?)and plant them in another area under a tree.  I have a least 20-30 srouts growing up through my deck, and underneath that I don't want growing there, and thought I could use them in another spot on my yard instead of purchasing more.  I have no idea how to do it.  I am new at all of this gardening stuff, but I really love it. thanks.

Answer
Hi Michele,
Thanx for your question.  I would dig up the plants growing in places in which I don't want them.  Just take a pitchfork or shove and dig deeply around them so you have a nice root ball and transfer them to where you want. I would dig around them a few inches away from the plants so I don't cut off too many of the roots.  Dig deeply so that you have a large ball of roots.  Dig a similarly deep hole in the new area in which you want the plants.  Water well and keep watering once a week if not regular rain.  I hope this helps.
Tom
