Sago Cycad propagation

Question
When is the best time of the year to transplant pups and suckers in an attempt
to rapidly establish in containers, (I live in coastal South Carolina, with high
humidity and temperatures).

Also what p[otting mix and what fertilizer would you apply?

Answer
Hi Shaun,
Thanx for your question.  Actually, now is a good time to transplant your cycads.  I'd just a good quality potting soil with a little sand mixed into it.  For every 4 cups of potting soil you have, add one cup of sand.  Use a balanced fertilizer like 12-12-12 or fish emulsion and follow the application instructions on the package.

I hope this helps.
Tom
