fertilizing seeds

Question
I started many seeds including tomatoes and several varieties of flowers. They are about 1 1/2 inches tall now, and I'm wondering when I should start fertilizing them and how much, how frequently, etc. Thanks for your time.

Answer
Hi Darlene,
Thanx for your question.  As soon as your seedlings have a strong set of leaves after the seed leaves (the leaves most plants first come up with called cotelydons) you can use a half-strength 12-12-12 balanced fertilizer or half-strength fish emulsion every 10-14 days until the plant is vigorous and able to be pricked out and planted in a separate cell and then you should fertilize every 10-14 days with full-stregth fertilizer.  I hope this helps.
Tom
