bismark palm

Question
Hi Tom!
have been searching for a Bismark Palm with fruit for 4 or 5 years and finally found one.  The seeds/fruit however seem very small next to pictures I have viewed on the internet.  Also about half green. Tree is landscaping on the side of the road and am anxious in case a lawn service removes the fruit before it matures. Am soaking as recommended by you on website just in case.tl6cs

Answer
Hi Lucinda,
Thanx for your question.  If you're using fruit still attached to the tree, it probably isn't ripe and will end up rotting.  The size of the fruit is probably okay.  Uncultivated plants tend to have smaller fruits than those cultivated for seed.  Use only seed from fruit that has already fallen from the tree.  I hope this helps.
Tom
