philodendron bipinnatifidum

Question
I donated a 40 plus year old plant to a botanical center. I am able to propagate a cutting and am thinking seriously about doing so. There are plenty of aerial roots but I do not see anything that could be called a "shoot". The plant has three stalks or trunks, with the leaf scars. Where do I make a cutting? I tried using root enzyme with a leaf stem but no go.
Thanks

Answer
Hi Linda,
Thanx for your question.  I'm not real experienced at cultivating house plants and I have no experience trying to cultivate this one.  I do know that you can take offshoots that grow from the base of the plant, just carefully cut it away from the mother plant with some roots and replant in the desired location or in a large pot if up north.  Here is a link that talks about taking cuttings.  I hope this helps.
Tom
