Seagrape Trimming

Question
Nick, I live in a condo in Palm Beach Co, on the beach.
One owner wants all of our Seagrapes trimmed so that he has a better view from his Townhouse located nearest the beach and the Seagrapes.  I have told our Board Members that we should wait until after the Seagrape plants flower and seed so that we will have more plants from the seeds and so that our hundreds of baby hatching turtles won't see any lights from the TownHouses and will crawl towards the ocean. I have tried to start new plants by rooting but I have not been successful thus far.  Please send suggestions.  Thank you.

Answer
Hi Cat, I could tell you how to propagate your sea grapes, but I have a suggestion for you, go to your local Cooperative Extension Service and speak with your local "Florida yards and neighborhood" representative who works there, he/she will visit and address this issue, this is a great example of what they address and give advice on, and your board will be much more apt to be attentive to what they have to say. This is a County office that exists to help the County residents...Nick
