Christmas Tree Palm

Question
My palm tree was knocked over by severe wind and the tree snapped where the fronds meet the tree bark. We re-attached the green (boot like) frond area back the the trunk with duct tape. Is there any hope that it will servive? Is there anything different we should do? Can this be treated like a grafting?  Thank you.

Answer
Hi Lisa, if it was completely severed, then there is nothing you can do, but if it is still attached then there is a chance, albeit a slight one, of it surviving. It isn't a graft situation, you graft onto healthy, existing plants, this would be the opposite, trying to graft onto a severely wounded plant. Wait and hope, and let mother nature take her course.
