Alamada bush

Question
I purchased an Alamanda last April and have repotted it to a bigger container and it is now located on our deck in full sun.  It was beautiful all summer and flowered continously.  In the last three days, the leaves have begun falling off and leaving the stmes bare.  What could cause this condition and what should I do about it?

Answer
Hi Betsy, it sounds like over watering, the roots have been stressed for it to defoliate that quickly; if it were insects or even a fungal problem, it would be much more gradual loss of leaves. When you repotted it did you plant it at the same level that it was in the other container, and did you disturb the root ball as little as possible? these are secondary reasons it could have stressed; check these out and let me know, in the mean time watch for new growth, it should begin growing new leaves, if the roots weren't too badly damaged.
