bugs on Hibiscus indoors

Question
I brought in 2 hibiscus trees to my sun room for the winter. I suddenly noticed many tiny black insects, fallen off, mostly dead - many of them. The insects and their eggs seem to be on the underside of the flowers. Please advise as  to how I can get rid of them. Before I brought the plants in I applied an insect killer to the soil and then sprayed the plant. The plants were a little too dry for a while but now seem healthy and are blooming - but I hate the bugs - and they're all over the windows in the room.

Answer
Mary, wheneve you introduce a plant from the outdoors, it is imperative that you remove them from their container, sterilize said container and replant with new medium. Insects lay their eggs in the soil and the warmth of the indoors often sparks an instant hatching. I would take this plant back outdoors and do this. I would also spray the entire crown down with a horticultural oil, let it sit for several hours and then wash away the residual oil and dead bugs. Nick
