MY MUSA HAS DEVELOPED A SIDE SHOOT OVER THE LAST 10 DAYS OR SO. IT IS ABOUT 8" TALL WITH 3 LEAVES. AT WHAT POINT CAN I TAKE THIS OFF AND POT IT?. THE ADULT PLANT IS ABOUT 2.5 YRS OLD, 7 FT TALL AND LIVES IN MY CONSERVATORY, WHERE IT IS THRIVING. MANY THANKS.

Hi Brian, the pup is still a little too young to be severed from Mom, let it develop a little more, when it is about a third the size of the Parent plant then take a long blade spade and cut directly down parallel to the Parents Pseudostem (trunk) and give it a little outside pressure and it should pop right off, then lift it with its own roots to be planted elsewhere.
