princess palm

Question
I live in Houston bad freeze damage to my princess palm . I have not removed the brown fonds . I have been watering it every day is that to much watering ? We have not had any rain for quite a while so i have tried to stimulate the plant with water and palm fertilizer ! I have copper fungicide but don't know what ratio and how often to use it . The palm is 18 ft tall and is still alive and green in the trunk . what should i do . Should I stop watering it everyday ?

Answer
Back off the watering, it does need to be properly irrigated, but in a stressed condition, the roots are not functioning at a hundred per cent and you can rot the roots by applying too much moisture. Patience is the medicine right now, spray the fronds down with a Copper fungicide and then repeat in a week, then wait and let mother nature bring it back from the stress level it is at right now. Once you see new fronds beginning to emerge then you can think about fertilizing.
