Dahoon Tree

Question
I have a Dahoon tree I bought three years ago from a nursery. The tree has no red berries in the Fall. It only has a light yellow blossom that is always blooming. It was six foot tall when planted and has grown eighteen inches since. The trunk and limbs are spindley. The tree seems to be healthy, but not as mature as trees I see in the neighboring areas. I use palmtree and general fertlizers. I was hoping the tree would shade and be as nice as others I have seen.

Answer
Possessing male and female flowers on separate plants, at least two Dahoon Hollies(male and female) must be planted in the landscape to ensure production of the brilliant red berries in fall and winter. I would say you have a male tree, the female produces the berries.
