Eucaliptus

Question
How do I start a eucaliptus tree from a seed ??

Answer
Take the seed from the seed pods and put them in a plastic bags with a damp paper towel. Place this bag with the seed in the refrigerator until spring. In the spring put good potting soil in a tray (about three inches deep) and  scatter the seed on the potting soil and cover them with a light coat of sand and keep the soil damp not wet. Place the tray where it is in the sun for warmth. All the seed will not germinate but you should see the sprouts in about 3-4 weeks.
Let them grow in the tray until they are about six inches tall. Genitally remove the seedling with the roots and plant in potting soil in quart size pots. When the seedlings get 12-18 inches tall you can plant them out in the yard. Of course keep the potting soil damp not wet through this growing process.
