Will a landscaper want my shrubs?

Question
Hello! I just purchased a home, and it has five lovely boxwoods along the foundation. They are large and healthy, but I can't tolerate the smell of them! I don't want to kill them, so I wondered if anyone would be interested in taking them out for me, perhaps even to sell to another party. Have you ever heard of anyone doing this? I appreciate your time - thank you!

Answer
Hi Cindy,

Large boxwoods are fairly valuable shrubs but only if they are nicely shaped and in good health, keeping that in mind I would not be suprised if someone wanted to purchase them. Check with local independent nurseries that do landscaping and see if they may might be interested.

Alternatively consider placing them up for auction on Ebay. List them in the garden section with specific direction that these are for local pick up only (you will not ship them) and the buyer must dig and haul them away themselves. Many people sell larger plant material in this manner through Ebay.

Of course your third option is too place an add in the classifieds of your local paper.

Hope this helps somewhat.

Regards,

Vito
