Hedge bush removal

Question
I have a hedge bush which is about 75' long.  I want to know the easiest way to remove it.  I have considered cutting down at the ground level and treating the remaining stems with a product such as Roundup.  Will this eventually cause the root system to decay and erode away?

Answer
David,
To remove the hedge in question, I would recommend either digging out the individual plants or pulling them out by some means.
Cutting them down to the ground would work, but you would get regrowth from the stems. As to spraying round up, This material needs to be absorbed through the leaf tissues in order to work. Spraying it on the stumps would be a waste of time.
If you opt to cut them to the ground, I would recommend that you have a company come in that offers stump grinding to grind out the stumps. This will insure no regrowth.
Good luck.
