I have 2 holly bushes beside my gas fireplace flue they are pretty and green but seem to be growing. what kind of fertilizer do they need or what?

If the Hollies are growing fine, I would not recommend fertilizing them. They are obviously getting the nutrients they require from the soil. Fertilizers should only be used when a plant is doing poorly or to speed up recovery from a insect or disease problem.

The only thing I would recommend is that you make sure they are properly mulched to protect their root systems through the winter months.
