crepe mrytle

Question
Is there a difference between a crepe mrytle bush & a crepe mrytle tree? If so, what?

Thank you

Answer
Hello Linda

Thank you for your question.

The difference tends to be a matter of height and form.

A bush or shrub produces several leaf/flower bearing shoots from the base and tends to be short growing, while a tree has (usually) a single main stem (or trunk) with shoots coming off it at some height above the ground forming a more or less defined canopy of foliage.

This definition applies to most woody plants.

Hope this explanation helps.
