Planting

Question
I want to plant a zebra grass.
Do i have to remove the grass in the area i want to plant or can i just dig & turn the grass over ?

Answer
Hello desgnr

I'd advise you to dig out the grass in the area you want to plant the Zebra Grass to give it the best chance to establish its roots, without having to complete for moisture and nutrients with the lawn grass.

I don't know how big your new plant is, but give it about 12" all round which is free of grass.  Once you've planted it, give it a good watering in and perhaps put a mulch over the grass-free area to hold the moisture in - it will also look nicer!
