Rose buds problem

Question
I live in Jacksonville, FL and brought a rose plant 3 months ago. The gardener from whom I brought told me that it was similar to Knockout rose, but this brand was not patented. Its about 2 feet or so and is planted in East side, gets morning and afternoon sun. Its mulched well and watered everyday in the morning only.
The problems are:
The flowers are blooming but petals fall off in a day...
Some rosebuds I noticed appear to have been cut off on one side. Is this any disease? Is something eating it off? Is there any cure?

Answer
The symptom you describe is not a disease, it is a little beetle eating the rose buds. Beetles are easy to get rid of simply use a rose insecticide, then when they eat they get poisoned. If you are an organic gardener, and have the patience, you can hand pick the beetles off. This is done early in the morning when they feed. Simply drop them in a can of soapy water. These bugs won't kill your rose but will just stop the flowers from blooming like they should. Hope this helps..
