I am not real swift with your web site, so I was unaware that it sent the duplicate question, but if you would have scrolled down...you would have found the new question which was below the duplicate below!

QUESTION: Hi Lynnette,

I was out this morning picking the dead buds off my knockouts like you suggested. There are soooo many having 6 bushes, so I started clipping. I hope this is ok. I found a june bug,and some leafs with little holes in them. I don't know what to do about june bugs or what's making the holes. I found a few webs, but it is a river rock landscape and we do get spiders that run all over when I water. Thanks for your help.

I would have thought you would know to scroll down, as it said follow up.

I sent this back to your email, but it says not able to process replies...so above is a duplicate.

Answer
Sorry for the mix up Kathy. June bugs are okay as they aren't interested in roses. There are two kinds of insects that make holes in rose leaves. One is a beetle and they make ragged areas especially around the leaf edges. The other is a caterpillar and they make round or long holes with smooth edges mainly in the center of the leaf. Any rose insecticide will get rid of caterpillars or beetles. Clipping the dead buds off is a good way to get rid of them.
I honestly feel that your roses will make new growth and start growing the way they should grow. It just will take time. Knock Out roses are tough shrubs.
