Knockout rose topiary

Question
Unfortunately the strong winds snapped the knockout rose topiary (stem) what can I do to save it.

Answer
There are two types of roses on a long stem. One is a tree rose and the other is a rose topiary. There are two ways to make these roses. For the tree rose type, they grow a rugosa rose to the height they want it and then graft about three modern roses on the top. If this one breaks you are left with only the rugosa rose. The topary is done by allowing a rose to grow upwards and then taking off all the side shoots to make a clean stalk. If this one breaks then you would still have the main rose left. Cutting both types right down to the ground next spring will start to make a rose bush in a couple of month. Hope this helps..
