planting knock out roses under oak trees

Question
Will knock out roses grow under oak trees ? I have tried azaleas and they do not grow well under oak trees because the oaks absorb any moisture in the surrounding area.

Answer
I think you will find that your roses will struggle against the oak tree the same way the azaleas did. However you could plant them in 18 inch wide pots, make a few large drain holes in the bottom and then they should do okay for you. I am assuming the roses will get about 5 hours of full sunshine.
