? disease/infestation on rose

Question
Dear Lynette,
My roses have been getting a "crinkling" in their leaves, i cannot see any discolouration in them just the crinkling of the leaves of new and old growth. i spray them with an all purpose spray which seems to fix them but only for 2 weeks and i have to keep spraying? Do you know what this may be?

Answer
Around this time of year when the weather is changing, roses get a fungal infection like a mould. This mould dries out the tops of the leaves and this makes the leaves curl. Try using 1 tablespoon of baking soda to 2 quarts of water and spray with it daily. If that doesn't clear it up then you will need something stronger, such as a fungicide spray for roses.
