Ixoras: Maui and Norah

Question
Hello Tom,
I live in Jacksonville, FL. I have about 10 Ixoras; my favorite is the Maui but find that the Maui is more difficult to keep looking healthy than the Norah. The leaves of my Maui plants are yellowing, getting spindly and bloom very little. I wonder about the pH of the soil because they are acid-loving plants. Someone told me to fertilize with 8-1-8 but could not find the mix anywhere, used Miracle Grow for acid-loving plants without success. They don't sell plants with enough information. HELP!

Answer
Hi Grace,
Thanx for your question.  I might suggest Sunniland Palm and Ixora fertilizer.  I think their corporate HQ is in Sanford which isn't too far away from Jax.   Or Vigoro Palm and Ixora spikes.  http://www.vigoro.com/ProductCategories/PlantFood/VigoroPalmIxoraFertilizerSpike...  I hope this helps.
Tom
