Vinegar and plants

Question
Hi, I've just finished a science experiment and have a few questions to ask. One of my plants was watered properly, and the other was watered with vinegar.
At first my vinegar one grew but has no disintegrated. Is there any reason why it would've grown first - like a substance or something that helps it grow - or was it just co-incidence?
thanks, jasmine
PS. They were just wheat sprouts.

Answer
Jasmine,

The vinegar you buy in the grocery is diluted so for a brief time the soil would have acted as a filter and filtered it enough that the wheat sprouts would have only absorbed the water but after a few days it had to absorb the vinegar and the acidity poisoned the the sprouts. Congratulations on your successful experiment.
