Moving plants in winter

Question
Hello I live in Pa and I am moving from my home to another  home in Pa. My question is this..Can I remove my plants and take them with me? I think they are azaleas Plus a small pussy willow tree. Thank you for any info  MJ

Answer
If the ground isn't frozen you can.  And be sure to not slice through too many roots.  You will also want to plant them as soon as possible before the root system dries out.  You will also want to feed it a B1 root stimulator like SuperThrive to help with the transplant shock and promote new root growth. The root system is still alive during the winter months, so don't disturb the root system too much when digging, by digging far away from the base of the plant.  You can continue to feed it B1 until late Spring and then switch to a slow release fertilizer Osmocote and then feed B1 again in the fall into winter.  Let me know if you have any more questions.
