Hi Tom:  I recently purchased my first potted Hybiscus tree and don't know much about care.   I have read some of your readers questions and your answers to them which have taught me a few things.  I found that it must be taken inside for the winter since I live in NJ and also it should be trimmed before the fall.  My new questions for you is to I cut off each bloom as it dies or just leave them alone.    Looking forward to your answer and anything else you and tell me.   Thanks so much.   Joyce

Hi Joyce,
Thanx for your question.  Many people prefer to "deadhead" or remove the spent blossoms of blooming shrubs and flowers.  It gives a neater appearance and unless you are trying to collect seeds, there is nothing wrong with removing spent flowers.  I hope this helps.
