Planting daffodil and tulip bulbs

Question
I have tulip and daffodil bulbs that I didn't get planted in the fall.  I am curious
if I can plant them now in mid-April or if they will be okay until next fall.

Answer
Hi Tara,
Thanx for your question.  Generally, the best time to plant spring bulbs is in the fall before the first frost.  If your bulbs are not mushy or completely dried out, I would go ahead and plant them now.  Some may not survive but it's better than trying to keep them going through the warm summer in a dark basement.  They would have to be kept rather cool to keep them from sprouting or you would have to keep them in a bag in the fridge and some would probably rot.  I'd go aheand and plant them about 6 inches deep in well drained soil in a sunny location.  I hope this helps.
Tom
