Need Identification and Care Instructions

Question
An office that I worked in several years ago had, what I considered, a beautiful plant.  No one in the office knew what it was.  I had never seen one before or since...until yesterday.  I brought it home from Lowes.  It was the only one there. Here's how I can describe it:

-Tree approx 3.5'tall
-Is in a 12" pot
-The smaller, younger leaves are dark green, saber-shaped with what look like small, yellowish, hair-like barbs coming out of the edges of them
-The tree, from a distance, looks "lacey"
-The older leaves seem to split into 5 leaves, almost marijuana-looking.
-There are several fo these leaves on each delicate branch.

I will email a "scan" of the leaves.  I would appreciate any care instructions you can provide.

Answer
Denise,

From your description I cannot identify your tree.  The scan of the leaves might help. A picture would also help. Email those to [email protected].

I would also encourage you to call Lowes and ask to speak to the Garden center or House Plant Department Manager. That person should be able to identify the tree for you. Make sure you get the dept. manager. Good luck.
