I could help you more if you provided more information about the plant you have, how long you have had it, its size, where your purchased it, how many leaf stems exhibit these symptoms, light you are providing, whether you repotted, and how you water it.

Believe it or not any one of those factors could be related to the symptoms you described.

In general, keeping the soil too moist and inadequate light are th most common causes of these symptoms. But there are other possible explanations, as well . I hope that you email me a photo ([email protected]) and provide additional information so I can provide you with a more definitive answer.
