Answer
Hi Suma,

You didn't give me much specific information about your Golden Pothos, so it is not possible for me to say what has gone wrong with yours. However, I can tell you how it should be cared for and that may help you determine where you have gone wrong.

Pothos should stay in relatively small pots, no large than 6 or 8 inches. Too large a pot will cause the soil to stay too moist and the roots to rot. Rotted roots leads to yellow leaves and then eventually the stems die, as well.

Pothos like bright, but indirect light, such as they get in a north window. Too much or too little can cause yellow leaves.

Allow the top inch of soil to dry out in between waterings.

Mold on the soil is usually due to using unsterilized soil and/or not allowing the soil to dry out properly in between waterings.

If you would like to email me a photo, that would help me provide more specific information.

Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
